PBSO IDs Lake Worth-area boy, 15, as victim in Oct. 10 fatal shooting near Palm Beach State College

LAKE WORTH BEACH — A 15-year-old boy has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred this month in suburban Lake Worth Beach

Authorities say that Ivan Torres of Lake Worth Beach died the night of Oct. 10 after being shot in the torso.

The fatal shooting occurred on the 4000 block of Serafica Drive, just west of John Prince Park and south of Palm Beach State College's main campus. 

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived on the scene to find Torres suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Torres was taken to a hospital, where he died. Investigators have not disclosed a motive in the shooting or released any information regarding a gunman.

The death is one of at least 64 homicides to occur in Palm Beach County this year, and one of 11 in October, according to a Palm Beach Post database.
